Hi all, My name is Christopher Cordle, a singer/songwriter from W. Michigan and a lover of guitars. I recently had the pleasure of spending many a Saturday with Robert Sayers building an OM with dred depth. It features a redwood top and EIR back & sides and bacote binding. I have the bug pretty bad in wanting to learn more about building. Robert let me bend my sides and I also cut, glued, shaped and braced the back braces and center back brace. This fall we're planning on building another pair of redwoods but this time with some highly figured claro walnut I picked up. I look forward to my education. I'll be stopping in here periodically as time allows. Great site and thanks to Bruce Dickey for leading me here. Here's a few pics of the OMD. ![]() ![]() |

Thanks for the friendly greeting Al, Not quite sure what happened to my pictures? I suppose I will have to see what I may have done wrong. I used the upload site and made sure they were under 150kb so I'm just not sure. |

Howdy, Chris! Caught you first on the MGL sub-forum--check it out. Hope you can get those OMD photos posted, 'cause it's a pretty nice guitar! Any chance of getting Mr. Sayers to join us? I'll bet he could add to the fun here! |

Hi Chris, glad you made it. I see you got "Mr. Fish" to load. That is a gorgeous guitar. I think you'll be amazed at some of the great guitars the builders here on the OLF will show from time to time. Have you a link to an mp3 of your playing, so folks here on the OLF can sample your music? Just wondering. |

Carlton, Somehow the pics ended up magically appearing! I would love to get Robert to join but I can't even get him to get a computer and I doubt he'll ever change. I see you're from Muskegon. I'm just across the pond from you in North Muskegon. |

Or as Robert says, "dispel the myths" I'm not sure how the pics magically appeared. As for mp3's of my music, any member who wishes can click on either of the links below and hear my music. The cd baby site has my latest recording with mp3 2 minute samples. On my sight all three cd's are in streaming real audio. The file size has been kept small so even those with dial-up can listen. The audio suffers that way but it gives you a pretty good idea of what my music is all about. |

So, your username must be courtesy of a niece/nephew? BTW, It looks like your pictures were added through the magic of our esteemed leader, Lance. |

Thanks for the compliments on my music over on the MGL. Actually my username was donned on me by my cousin Joshua (who also played that night). There was an old Cheech & Chong film where he's talking about his cousin Strawberry. I started calling Josh that years ago and it stuck. (Even my three year old son calls him Uncle Strawberry). In return he started calling me Uncle Shish. |

Chris' cousin actually had the nerve to attempt a cover of Ernie Ford's "16 Tons" the night I saw them--and he nailed it! He sang it in Ernie's low vocal range and did the master proud! Cousin Strawberry--country legend! |

That indeed looks like a cool guitar. I wonder if that redwood came from me- Robert re-sawed some tops for me, and I gave him a couple for doing that....it was a few years back, too. I've known ol' Robert for some time...a very interesting individual! I'm looking forward to playing this one sometime soon. |
